Don’t be so hard on yourself. The game is “…Iru!” / “。。。いる！” for Playstation. Published by Takara in 1998. It’s pretty great, sort of like Echo Night meets Clock Tower. Here are some older posts that I made when I was dumber and worse at making gifs. 

Part of the reason I’m revisiting it is in memoriam of Underground-Gamer, as I probably would have never known about it (among countless other games that have been on this blog) if not for that website.
